Nota: Para os que o desconhecem, o idioma Frísio é a língua mais próxima do inglês no continente europeu, sendo as outras, as línguas germânicas regionais faladas nas Ilhas Britânicas - e erroneamente classificadas como 'dialetos' do inglês - como o nortumbriano, o cumbriano, o scots e o saxão, sendo que os três primeiros são evoluções da fase antiga da língua dos Anglos e o último, do saxão antigo, todos falados como línguas independentes do norte e sul da atual Grã-Bretanha, antes da formação do anglo-saxão, que é a origem do inglês moderno.
Naturalmente, também há as maravilhosas línguas celtas nas Ilhas Britânicas, mas este é outro "reino encantado" das culturas ancestrais daquelas Ilhas!
